The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has staged its annual Hoylake Lifeboat Open Day.

Crowds of people flocked to the event which featured a display by the Red Arrows, funfairs, charity stalls and street theatre entertainment.

During the event, which ended at 1800 BST, visitors were given the chance to take a trip on a hovercraft and also check out the new lifeboat station.

Over the years the event has raised thousands of pounds for the RNLI.
