Raymond Shearwood
Mr Shearwood was last seen dropping off his daughter at home

A man has been arrested over the murder of a Merseyside father-of-three who has been missing for more than a year.

Raymond Shearwood, 36, from Bootle, was last seen in August 2007 when he dropped his eight-year-old daughter at home after a cinema trip.

Mr Shearwood has not been seen since. His car, a green Ford Mondeo, has never been found.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed pending further inquiries.

A murder inquiry was launched by police last October, six weeks after Mr Shearwood's disappearance.
