Crowds expected to attend rally

Thousands of people are expected to visit Southport for the Woodvale International Rally this weekend.

The two-day event, which takes place at RAF Woodvale, is celebrating its 37th anniversary this year.

Among the list of highlights planned for the rally are a model aeroplane demonstration, a vintage and classic car rally and a kite festival.

The charity fundraiser will also include craft and country fairs as well as Morris dancing displays.

There will also be motorbikes and military vehicles on display as well as live entertainment and a fairground.

The rally runs from 0900 BST to 1800 BST on Saturday and Sunday.
