Man in court over wife's killing

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his wife at a house on Merseyside.

Police were called to a property in Morningside, Crosby, on Thursday night, where they found Joanne De Asha, who was 45, stabbed to death.

Anthony De Asha, 49, was arrested after the incident and appeared at Sefton Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning charged with her murder.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 29 July.

A post-mortem examination showed Mrs De Asha died from multiple stab wounds, police said.
