Appeal after man hurt in shooting

A 28-year-old man has been shot on Merseyside.

The victim suffered injuries to his arm and back in the shooting which happened near Baileys Lane, in the Halewood area, in the early hours.

A 34-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, who are both from the local area, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police are conducting a forensic search of the area and carrying out local inquiries in a bid to trace witnesses.

Anyone with information about the incident, which happened just before 0100 BST, is asked to contact police.
