Man is shot in face by hooded men
A 20-year-old man has been shot in the face in Merseyside in what police believe was a targeted attack.

The victim, who has not been named, was sitting in a car in Landford Avenue in Fazakerley when he was approached by two hooded men who shot him.

The man took himself to hospital following the attack on Saturday evening. His facial injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area and are appealing for witnesses.

Detectives say they do not have a motive for the attack which happened at 2020 GMT but are carrying out house-to-house inquiries and have carried out a forensic examination of the scene.
