Woman in court over cyclist death

A 25-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of another woman who was stabbed as she cycled down a road in Liverpool.

Rachel Jones, 26, died in an attack which followed an argument in the Anfield area on Friday night.

Louise Gardner, of Mallow Road, Kensington, appeared at Liverpool City Magistrates' Court on Monday.

She spoke only to confirm her details and was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 2 April.

Three other women, aged 19, 25 and 49, arrested in the inquiry have been bailed pending further inquiries.
