A 24-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering a man shot dead at the wheel of his car in Merseyside.

Derek Stevens was shot in the head in his gold Land Rover in Mackets Lane, Halewood, on 5 January.

A bullet was fired through the windscreen, causing him to crash his vehicle into a stationary Ford Focus.

Carl Fury, of Wood Road, Halewood, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court and was remanded in custody to attend the court on 13 May.
