Man shot in stomach during attack

The shooting took place near the Stanley pub

A man has been shot in the Anfield area of Liverpool.

The victim was hit in the abdomen and has been taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Merseyside Police say the shooting happened at around 0530 GMT in Pulford Street.

Roads in the area were sealed off while the investigation began.
