Healthy dog food is award winner
A Formby woman has become Merseyside Entrepreneur of the Year for her healthy dog food business.

Lisa Horne, who used to work for the RSPCA and a vets surgery, spotted a niche in the market for her business Healthy Paws.

She said she was fed up of seeing dogs with so many medical problems which all stem from a bad diet.

She won £100,000 to bolster her fledgling range of "holistic" foods which are free from additives.

The 37-year-old said: "It has been hard, but it's all been worth it.

"I started off researching and testing before I hand-baked special dog treats before taking them into production.

"I just wanted things to be better for the dogs."
