Men in court over student murder
Sion Hardy
The university said it was "shocked and saddened" by Mr Hardy's death
Two men accused of murdering a fellow student after a night out in Liverpool city centre have appeared in court.

Simon Taylor, 20, from Wigan, and Keith O'Dea, 22, who are charged with the murder of Sion Hardy, 24, stood in the dock at Liverpool Crown Court.

Mr Hardy, a civic planning student at the University of Liverpool, from Bangor, north Wales, died of a brain haemorrhage following a night out.

The pair will next appear on 3 March with a trial expected in April.

It is alleged that the men were involved in a fight after leaving the Medication student night held at the Nation club in Wolstenholme Square.

Mr Taylor, of Everton Brow but originally from Ashton-in-Makerfield in Wigan, was remanded in custody. He is a building student at John Moores University.

Three other people are still on police bail in connection with Mr Hardy's death.
