Man arrested after student dies
Murder scene
The 24-year-old was died after an assault in the tunnel
A 22-year-old man has been arrested following the death of a student on a night out in Liverpool.

The victim, 24, was taken to Royal Liverpool Hospital after he was assaulted in Wolstenholme Square in the city centre, but later died.

Detectives are now questioning a man from Aigburth, arrested on suspicion of murder.

Merseyside Police said the victim was involved with an argument with a man he knew shortly before his death.

The dead man had been at Medication in Nation Club with friends before the incident happened at 0248 GMT.

Detectives said the disagreement broke out in a short tunnel leading from Turnage Square.

CCTV footage of the area is being looked at by police and patrols have been stepped up to reassure the public.
