A man has been found shot dead at an address in Liverpool.

Police were called to a house on Maritime Place shortly after 2300 GMT on Wednesday.

The body of Thomas Grundy, 56, was found lying in a bedroom with a number of bullet wounds. Officers said they believed the killing was targeted.

Police have arrested a 21-year-old man, from Islington, a 27-year-old man from Old Swan and a man, 34, from Wavertree, all on suspicion of murder.

Mr Grundy, a former security guard, lived at the house with his partner and at least one son.

Police have secured the scene and a forensic sweep is continuing.

House-to-house inquiries have taken place in the surrounding area.
