Jury out in 'mercy killing' case
Frank Lund
Frank Lund claims he killed his wife 'out of love'
The jury in the trial of a man accused of murdering his wife has retired to consider its verdict.

Frank Lund, 58, admits killing his 65-year-old wife Patricia by smothering her with a plastic bag and a pillow at their home in Wirral last year.

He denies murder and insists it was 'out of love' after Mrs Lund had asked him to kill her after her life was made miserable by a bowel illness.

The jury at Liverpool Crown Court has retired after three days of evidence.
