A special set of stamps will be unveiled later to commemorate the historic link between Liverpool and the Isle of Man.

They will be presented to the Mayor of Liverpool by a representative of the Isle of Man Post Office, to mark the city's 800th birthday.

The stamps show images of Liverpool war heroes, The Beatles and famous landmarks in the city.

They will be available for the public to buy on Friday.

The stamps were produced as the result of a local newspaper appeal which asked local people to submit their ideas for stamps that drew on the common history between Liverpool and the Isle of Man.
