Rainfall leads to commuter delays
Heavy rain on Merseyside has led to delays for many commuters.

Rainfall early on Monday morning meant flooding at Birkenhead North station and subsequent rail cancellations on the Merseyrail in Wirral.

Train services from the station to Birkenhead's Hamilton Square were cancelled but all services were running as normal by about 1000 BST.

Merseyside fire service said it had received more than 30 calls from people affected by localised flooding.

The calls came mainly from the Wirral but also from people in the West Derby and Tuebrook areas of Liverpool.
