Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were discovered at a house on Merseyside.

The bodies of two people believed to be in their 50s were found at a house on Drayton Crescent, in the Blackbrook area of St Helens, on Monday.

Merseyside Police said a post-mortem examination was due to take place to establish the cause of their deaths.

The scene of the deaths has been cordoned off and forensic investigations are under way.
