Four charged over shooting death

Four more men have been charged in connection with the murder of a teenager who was gunned down outside a Merseyside jail.

Liam Smith, 19, of Walton, died on 23 August when he was shot outside HMP Altcourse in Higher Lane, Fazakerley.

The four, who are aged between 27 and 38, have been charged with assisting an offender and are due to appear before Liverpool Magistrates on Monday.

Six people have already appeared in court charged with his murder.
