Gun killing was 'targeted attack'
Daniel Duffy
Daniel Duffy died in hospital from his injuries
The fatal shooting of a 46-year-old man in Liverpool was a "targeted attack", detectives have said.

Daniel Duffy, 46, was walking along Sullington Drive in Netherley when he was shot on Monday night.

Merseyside police say that, while the shooting was targeted, they are unsure whether Mr Duffy, a father-of-three, was the intended victim.

Officers also want to speak to two teenage boys in the area at the time, who they believe may be witnesses.

'Vital information'

The boys were aged about 16 and were wearing hooded tops.

Det Supt Alan Barr, of Merseyside Police, said: "I want to reassure them that we don't think that they are involved in the shooting at this point, but there is a chance that they hold vital information, important to the investigation.

"We will treat what they have to say in the strictest confidence."

Mr Duffy suffered bullet wounds and was taken to hospital, but died later.
