Man killed in showroom shooting

A man has been killed and another injured in a double shooting on Merseyside.

Police were called to a commercial vehicle showroom on Ormskirk Road in Aintree on Monday evening following reports of shots being heard.

They found a 58-year-old with gunshot wounds to the head, who was taken to hospital but later died.

A 30-year-old man was also shot in the back and hand - his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The shooting took place at a premises opposite the entrance to Aintree race course at about 1800 BST.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact them.
