A spark plug factory which has stood on the same site in Wirral for more than 30 years ceases production on Friday.
The Champion Spark Plugs plant in Upton had been losing money for a number of years because of a lack of demand for its products and cheaper imports.
The factory's US parent company Federal Mogul took the decision to close the plant in December last year.
Champion Spark Plugs was established at the Upton site in 1968 and employed more than 300 people.
