Two mosque attack suspects bailed
Wirral Islamic Cultural Centre
One man was treated for smoke inhalation
Two men arrested in connection with an arson attack on a mosque in Merseyside were freed on police bail on Thursday.

Fire broke out at Wirral Islamic Cultural Centre, Shahjalal Mosque, Birkenhead, on 9 July two days after the London bombings.

Merseyside Police said a 29-year-old and a 28-year-old from Birkenhead were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

Another man has already appeared in court on a similar charge.

The bailed men have to report back to Merseyside Police in September.
