The UK's first woman spy chief is to receive an honorary degree from Liverpool University.
Dame Stella Rimington, who was the first MI5 chief to be named publicly, is being awarded a Doctorate of Laws.
Also being honoured during the university's graduation week are Commodore Ronald Warwick, the captain of the cruise liner Queen Mary II.
Nobel Peace Prize winner, John Hume, leader of the SDLP party in Northern Ireland, will get a Doctorate of Laws.
Dame Stella will receive her award at the Philharmonic Hall on Tuesday, in front of the university's graduating students.
