Man charged with cemetery rape

A man has been charged in connection with the rape of a teenager in a Liverpool churchyard.

A 19-year-old woman was attacked in the grounds of St Michael-in-the-Hamlet on St Michael's Church Road in Toxteth, last Thursday night.

She alleges she was attacked as she walked home after a night out with a group of friends.

Leslie Kenneth Ryder, 24, of no fixed address, is due to appear before Liverpool magistrates on Thursday.
