Large distillery fire 'was arson'
Greenalls distillery after fire
The distillery was extensively damaged by the fire
A major fire at a distillery in Warrington is being treated as arson, police have revealed.

One firefighter was injured in the blaze at G & J Greenall's, while residents had to be moved to a community centre and nearby hotels.

A 500m exclusion zone was also set up while firefighters from Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester tackled the fire.

The site was extensively damaged by the blaze in October.

It used to be a brewery but had been turned into a gin and vodka distillery.

G & J Greenall's has been based in the North West since 1761.
