Anti-racism tournament kicks off
A day of sport, music and dance has kicked off Knowsley Council's anti-racism campaign.

Among the events on Sunday was a children's football tournament plus coaching by Liverpool and Everton football clubs.

The event, including live bands and dance performances, was held at King George V playing fields in Huyton.

Council leader Ron Round said it was committed to improving the quality of life for all residents in the borough.

"We recognise the level of reported racial abuse is not the full extent of the problem in our community and we want to encourage the people of Knowsley to work with us and our partners to stamp out this despicable behaviour," he said.
