Tram derailed in crash with lorry

No-one was seriously hurt in the accident

Tram services between Piccadilly and Victoria in central Manchester were halted when a tram became derailed after a collision with a lorry.

The crash happened in Corporation Street in the city centre.

The road was temporarily closed while the scene of the accident was cleared but reopened later.

The driver of the HGV was taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary for treatment to minor injuries. There were no reports of anyone else being hurt.
