Houses near a Cheshire distillery were evacuated when a major fire started on Saturday.
Firefighters from Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire were called to battle the flames at G & J Greenall's in Warrington.
A safety cordon was set up around the factory, which used to brew beer but is now a major gin and vodka distillery.
The Wilderspool Causeway that links the town to the M56 remained closed on Sunday morning.
Mike Griffiths, from Cheshire Fire Service, said: "A series of free-running alcohol fires has caused extensive damage to the factory.
"The key stills area has been protected and that will ensure production at the site."
One firefighter was treated for minor injuries.
The company has been based in the region since 1761.
