Police are questioning a man in connection with the murder of a Royal Navy seaman after an attack in a Liverpool bar.
Anthony Cavanagh, 22, died on Wednesday, two weeks after he was attacked in the Walkabout bar in the city centre while on shore leave.
Mr Cavanagh was attacked by one of three men after accidentally bumping into one of the group.
A 21-year-old man from Wavertree was arrested on Thursday, police said.
He was due to be questioned by officers.
Punched unconscious
Mr Cavanagh was targeted by the three men as he walked though the bar with friends in the early hours of 24 September.
One of them threw a drink over him and then a punch was thrown.
Merseyside Police said Mr Cavanagh was unconscious from the moment he was hit.
A spokesman for the Royal Navy said Mr Cavanagh, who served on HMS Cardiff, was "very popular, hard-working and professional".
