Force honours deceased colleagues
Kevin Brinkman
The family of Pc Kevin Brinkman will be attending
A memorial garden honouring police officers and civilian staff from Cheshire Police was being dedicated at its headquarters on Thursday.

The garden remembers officers and staff who have died in service.

The Duchess of Gloucester will plant a rose bush in the garden in a ceremony led by the force chaplain Rev Rex Buckley before touring the HQ.

Police authority chairman Peter Nurse said the force was delighted that the duchess was attending the service.

'Fitting honour'

"The memorial is a fitting way to honour police officers and staff who have died in service," he said.

"The garden will provide a place where staff can take a moments break from their busy schedules and enable them to reflect on the dedication of their former colleagues."

Among the relatives attending will be the family of Pc Kevin Brinkman, from Warrington who died in Thailand in March.

He was killed in a road crash while serving in a British police unit sent as a response to the tsunami disaster.
