Ian Pick's body was found at his home on 17 January
Three police officers have been suspended amid claims they did not respond to a disturbance at a house where a man later died.

Ian Pick's body was found at his home in Cunningham Road, Old Swan, Liverpool, on 17 January.

It is claimed the Merseyside Police officers were called to an incident there on the previous day but failed to call at the house.

Two 17-year-old youths have appeared in court charged with Mr Pick's murder.

Standards inquiry

Asst Ch Con Grahame Barker, of Merseyside Police, said: "Three police officers and a support staff member have been suspended whilst an investigation continues into the police response following the death of Ian Pick.

"Following claims of police delays the Force Professional Standards Department launched an inquiry.

"The three police officers and member of support staff have been suspended from duty pending the outcome."

It is now being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
