A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after an accident in Wirral.
One person died and four were treated in hospital after the crash at Barston Road on Wednesday night.
Merseyside police said the driver of a Vauxhall Vectra lost control of his car on a bend. It collided with a Skoda Fabia on the other side of the road.
One passenger in the Vectra died. Police said the arrested man was due to be questioned about the crash.
