Son denies murdering his parents

An 18-year-old man has denied murdering his parents, who were found stabbed to death at their home.

Brian Blackwell, 72, and his wife Jacqueline, 61, were discovered at their bungalow in Sandy Lane in Melling, Merseyside, last July.

Their son, also called Brian Blackwell, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday morning via a video link to face the charges.

On Monday, the teenager pleaded not guilty to both murders.

Mr Blackwell was further remanded in custody and the date for his trial was set for 16 May.
