Firearm arrests follow dawn raids

Four men have been arrested in Runcorn on suspicion of possessing or trying to obtain a firearm.

They were arrested during early morning raids on Tuesday by police taking part in a national clampdown on buying prohibited weapons over the internet.

Cheshire Police said it wanted to remind the public it was an offence to have a handgun, airgun or stun gun even if bought abroad.

The men, aged 21, 26, 33 and 53, have been released on bail.
