A woman has been seriously injured in a crash on the M62 motorway near Warrington, Cheshire.
Three other people were hurt in the the four car crash near junction 11 at Birchwood, which closed the westbound carriageway for one and a half hours.
The crash, just before 7am on Tuesday caused major delays in the area. At one stage queues stretched back eight miles to the Eccles Interchange.
Firefighters had to free the woman who was trapped in a car.
