Man is killed in bypass accident
A man has died in a two-vehicle crash on a bypass in Lancashire.

It happened on the A56 Accrington bypass at Hapton at about 1210 GMT on Monday.

It is believed that the driver of one of the vehicles was dead on arrival at the Royal Preston Hospital, where he was taken by air ambulance.

Lancashire Police said the road, which had been closed in both directions, was due to be reopened to traffic at about 1500 GMT.
