Pc in court on corruption charges
A suspended police officer has appeared in court charged with corruption.

Pc Gregory O'Leary, 37, of Allerton, Liverpool, was charged with 33 counts of corruption after an investigation by the Professional Standards Unit.

Mark Mitchell, 50, a retired officer, and Allan Larkin, 62, of Wallasey, also appeared at Liverpool Crown Court charged with conspiracy to corrupt.

Six other men appeared on similar charges, and all were remanded on bail until 27 January.

Mr Mitchell, of Sefton Road in Litherland, is also charged with conspiracy to supply drugs and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

The other men faced charges including possessing a firearm without a certificate, drugs charges and alleged possession of counterfeit currency.
