Striker unhurt after police crash
Djibril Cisse
Djibril Cisse refused hospital treatment after the crash
Liverpool footballer Djibril Cisse has been left "shaken but uninjured" after he was in a crash with a police car, the club says.

The French striker was driving to training in his black Dodge 4x4 when the crash happened in the Childwall area of the city at 1000 BST on Friday.

The police car had its flashing lights and sirens on and was on the way to the scene of a hit-and-run accident.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said Cisse, 23, suffered minor rib injuries.

But the player refused hospital treatment.

Neck injuries

Liverpool FC spokesman Ian Cotton said: "Djibril was seen by the club doctor and then took part in training as normal.

"He was a bit shaken, obviously, but uninjured."

Two police officers suffered neck injuries but remained on duty.

Cisse was Liverpool's record signing when he joined the club from Auxerre for 14m last month.
