Care worker killed in shooting
Molyneux Road, Liverpool
Armed police response teams were called to Molynuex Road
A 22-year-old care worker who was shot dead as he returned home from a night out may have been a victim of mistaken identity, Merseyside Police say.

Craig Eaton, who worked at Liverpool's Alder Hey Hospital, died of gunshot wounds after the Kensington shooting.

Armed response teams were called to Molyneux Road after people reported gunshots at 2315 GMT on Tuesday.

Det Supt Russ Walsh said: "There is nothing in his background to suggest why he was targeted."

Mr Eaton was returning home from an evening out with a former colleague when his killer struck.

Patrols have been stepped up in the area.

And Merseyside Police are urging anyone with information to ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
