Woman dies after Audenshaw taxi collision

An elderly woman has died after being hit by a black taxi cab in Greater Manchester.

The 79-year-old pedestrian was on Guide Lane - near to its junction with Chapel Street - in Audenshaw, when the collision happened on Friday night.

She was taken to Tameside General Hospital with serious injuries to her left leg, head and pelvis, but died a few hours later.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police.
