A teenager has appeared in court charged with the harassment of a man who collapsed and died in the garden of his Greater Manchester home.

Kial Cottingham, 18, of Sylvester Way, Hattersley, appeared before Tameside Magistrates' Court.

He was remanded in custody for three days so police could talk to him about other possible offences.

David Askew, 64, was found dead in Melandra Crescent, on Wednesday. Tests have failed to show the cause of death.

Further post-mortem examinations are to be carried out.

The harassment charge relates to incidents alleged to have occurred between 25 January and 10 March, police said.
