Young driver dies after collision in Cheshire

A 20-year-old man from Greater Manchester has died after the van he was driving was in a collision with an articulated lorry.

The emergency services were called to the junction of Manchester Road and Chapel Lane, in Rixton-with-Glazebrook, at 1205 GMT on Saturday.

The man, from Cadishead in Salford, died at the scene, a spokesman for Cheshire Police said.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
