Man charged with attacking police

A man has been charged with assaulting two police officers called to a flat in Greater Manchester.

The officers went to Lowther Road, Prestwich, last Thursday after reports a woman had been indecently assaulted.

The pair struggled with a man at the flat and the male officer suffered an injured shoulder and his female colleague had back and neck injuries.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with indecent assault, common assault and two counts of police assault.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Tameside on Wednesday.
