Met officer denies sex attacks on girls in Tameside

Pc Sean Smith denies the indecent assault charges

A Metropolitan Police officer has denied committing sex offences against young girls in Greater Manchester.

Pc Sean Smith, 29, of Critchley Avenue, Dartford, Kent, is accused of 15 counts of indecent assault on three girls in Tameside between 1996 and 2001.

The alleged victims were aged between five and 13 at the time.

Pc Smith entered his plea and confirmed his details at Tameside Magistrates' Court and is due to return to the court on 17 March.

It is expected the case will be committed to crown court.

He has been placed on restricted duties at Eltham police station in south London.
