Bethany Kennerley collapsed at her home

A mother has appeared in court via video link charged with the murder of her three-year-old daughter. Bethany Marie Kennerley, known to her family as Boo, was found collapsed at her home in Cheadle Heath, Greater Manchester, on 3 October. A post-mortem examination found she died as a result of being smothered. Helen Mary Caudwell, 41, was due to enter a plea at Manchester Crown Court but the hearing was adjourned until 1 March. She was remanded in custody.
