Passengers at Manchester Airport have been serenaded as they queued to board their plane.

Singer and songwriter Ben Montague has been bellowing out his rock tunes as suitcases are wheeled past him in the bustle of terminal 2.

His inspiration, he says, came while he was queuing at Heathrow Airport and he "fell in love" with the atmosphere of departure lounges.

An airport spokesman said it was a good idea and "pretty innovative".

His next stops will be Glasgow and Edinburgh airports in Scotland before he heads to the capital.

"I have played my own songs, but also a few covers," he said, "I have been playing Oasis this morning which certainly got a few people going and singing along.

"It's been a real challenge, but people have been really receptive so far."

There were at least 50 passengers stood watching him perform on Wednesday morning.

Earlier this year, Ben enjoyed airplay on Radio 2 with his debut single 'Can't Hold Me Down'.

He has performed in front of 18,000 people at Silverstone alongside rock legends Roger Daltrey and Nick Mason.
