Police name baby found in house

Alex Sutherland
Tests have not established how Alexander Sutherland died

Police have named a 13-month-old boy whose body was found in a house in Greater Manchester.

Officers found Alexander Sutherland, whose body had lain unreported for two days, when they responded to a call to an address in Porlock Road, Baguley.

His mother, 39, was initially arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been re-arrested on suspicion of neglect and manslaughter.

Tests failed to establish how Alexander died, police said.

Officers have been granted permission to question the woman for longer.

She is currently in police custody.
