Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run

A man has died in a hit-and-run in Greater Manchester.

The man, who was in his 50s, was seriously injured when he was struck by a car on The Crescent, near its junction with Albion Way, in Salford.

He was was found by a police officer in the early hours, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Greater Manchester Police are yet to find the car, believed to be a Vauxhall Astra, or the driver. Part of the road has been closed for investigations.
