Two planes diverted due to faults

Two Thomas Cook aircraft packed with holidaymakers were diverted to Manchester Airport after warning faults were reported.

An air pressure problem within the cabin of flight TCX452K from Glasgow to Tenerife, forced its diversion.

The second flight, TCX355K, from Leeds/Bradford airport for the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh reported an engine fault on Tuesday morning.

Both landed safely and passengers were later able to continue their journeys.

A spokeswoman for Thomas Cook Airlines said the 225 passengers heading to Tenerife and the 231 travelling to Sharm el-Sheikh had been kept up to date with what was happening.
