Bethany Kennerley was found collapsed by emergency crews

A three-year-old girl who was found dead at a house in Stockport has been identified by police.

Bethany Kennerley was pronounced dead after an ambulance crew arrived at the property in Redwood Close, Cheadle Heath, on Saturday morning.

A 43-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has been informed, in line with normal procedures where there has been recent police contact.

The woman was taken to hospital with injuries to her wrist and remains in hospital.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Monday.
